Tour itinerary

Day One - Arrive in Christchurch
Spend your day enjoying some of the many activities Christchurch has to offer - punting down the river, head up the Gondola for unique views of Christchurch, head out to Lyttelton for a wildlife cruise or simply enjoy the inner city cafes.

Day Two - Christchurch - Nelson via Greymouth 
TranzScenic Train departs Christchurch at 08:15
Arrive Greymouth at 12:45
InterCity Coach departs Greymouth at 13:30
Arrive Nelson at 19:30

Sit back and enjoy a spectacular rail journey across the South Island. The TranzAlpine excursion is rated in the top six rail journeys in the world. The TranzAlpine travels over huge viaducts, through gorges and river valleys before tracking across New Zealand's greatest mountain range - the Southern Alps. At Greymouth, board the coach Northbound for Nelson.

Day Three - Nelson 
The Nelson region offers enormous diversity both in the landscape and in activities – from snow capped mountains to rolling vineyards to golden beaches, then choose from outdoor adventure to learning Maori weaving to visiting local markets.

Day Four - Nelson - Kaikoura (via Blenheim) 
InterCity Coach departs Nelson at 08:30
Arrives Kaikoura 12:05

After your stay in Nelson, take the coach through to Kaikoura, stopping in Blenheim. Continue through to Kaikoura to experience Whale Watching or simply stroll the coastline.

Overnight: YHA Kaikoura

Day Five - Kaikoura - Christchurch
TranzCoastal Train departs Kaikoura at 15:28
Arrive Christchurch at 18:21

This afternoon board the TranzCoastal train headed for Christchurch.

Tour ends upon arrival in Christchurch.

Cancellations and amendments

Once the package has commenced no portion of the package is refundable, for whatever reason.

Cancellations received at least 7 days prior to proposed date of arrival in New Zealand will be entitled to a refund less a cancellation fee of NZ$50 per person.

Cancellations received in the period which is between 2 and 7 days prior to proposed date of arrival in New Zealand shall be entitled to a refund less a cancellation fee of NZ$100 per person.

• Cancellations received less than 48 hours prior to proposed date of arrival or less than 48 hours prior to start date of the package shall not be entitled to a refund.
• It is recommended that all passengers have comprehensive travel insurance.
