• Choose from 5, 7, 10, 15 or 20 nights accommodation. We have included less accommodation nights than car hire days to give you greater freedom. If you wish to spend additional nights at YHA hostels, just pay the hostel upon check in
• Package prices are based on multi-share accommodation. You can upgrade to a twin or double room based on the cost of the room using our room upgrade model
• YHA Accommodation Vouchers are valid for 6 months
• NB: If you wish for us to pre-book all your accommodation, an additional booking fee of $25.00 applies

• All prices quoted are the entire rental & accommodation package - not a per person price
• Packages can be customised to the number of people travelling, prices are available on application

Pick up & drop off information

Omega Rental Cars have depots in Auckland City, Auckland Airport, Wellington, Picton, Nelson, Christchurch and Queenstown

• If you wish to travel between the North & South Islands you can either retain the same vehicle for the duration of the hire, or drop the vehicle off at Wellington or Picton and pick up another vehicle on the other side. (Please Note: The cost of the ferry crossing is not included in the package price and a minimum hire is required between pick up in Auckland or Christchurch and drop off at the ferry terminal)
• Travelling time and distance guide
  7 & 10 day hire options are only available for use in 1 island, ie North or South Island only
• At least 72 hours notice is required for any change of pick-up/drop off dates and changes are subject to availability

Insurance 

• Comprehensive insurance is subject to an excess of NZ$1000.00 which is payable by cash, travellers cheques or credit card in the event of any accidental damage
• The excess may be waived by the payment of a Collision Damage Waiver of NZ$10.00 per day payable direct to the rental car company at the commencement of the hire

Drivers 

• You must be over 21 years of age
• You must hold either a current international, national or overseas drivers license. This must be produced at the commencement of your hire
• There is no extra charge for additional drivers

Other information

You can pre-book your first night(s) accommodation when purchasing this package. Once in New Zealand you can arrange further transport and accommodation bookings at the hostel travel desks.

If you wish to pre-book your entire itinerary including accommodation and transport, you can do so at the time of booking the package. Please note a booking fee applies for this service. Contact the YHA New Zealand Customer Services Team for further information.

Cancellations and amendments

• Passes are non-refundable and non-transferrable once travel has commenced
• Cancellations received at least 7 days prior to proposed date of arrival in New Zealand will be entitled to a refund less a cancellation fee of NZ$50 per person
• Cancellations received in the period which is between 2 and 7 days prior to the proposed date of arrival in New Zealand shall be entitled to a refund less a cancellation fee of NZ$100 per person
• Cancellations received less than 48 hours prior to the proposed date of arrival in New Zealand shall not be entitled to a refund
• It is recommended that all passengers have comprehensive travel insurance
